To all Friends of the Conservatory:
We want to extend our deepest appreciation for all you do to enhance the work of the Conservatory and ensure that Lynn Conservatory students thrive. Because of all you do, we want to extend an invitation to you to use and enjoy our Music Library. Friends of the Conservatory are welcome to visit, check out CDs, scores, and recordings you may not be able to locate elsewhere. Or consult with our Music Librarian, suggest purchases, and donate materials to the Library. You may check out other Lynn Library materials as well– general interest and scholarly books, popular DVDs, and more. We— the Music Library, the Lynn Library as a whole, and our entire staff— are there for you.
- Amy Filiatreau, Library Director
The mission of the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Library is to partner with the Lynn community to pursue lifelong learning and discovery within a dynamic, student-centered and collaborative environment. Our information experts provide traditional resources, technologies, and educational services.
The Library is the center of Lynn University's academic community. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and visitors converge in the library to take advantage of the many resources and services that support learning at Lynn University.
The library's learning resources includes a collection of approximately 70,000 print volumes, 180,000 e-books, more than 40 online academic research databases, and a large collection of over 5,000 DVDs, known as The Lynn Parents and Families Collection of Great Movies. All are accessible via the library’s catalog, LynnQUEST.
Since 2003, the music library has supported the faculty and students of the Conservatory, growing each year with carefully selected resources. The Music Library is now one of the finest of its kind. The core collection consists of musical scores and classical music CDs.
We have 6,000 scores and 5,000 CDs that span the Baroque to the modern periods. Also, we have DVDs of the operas and the musical performances by the chamber musicians and the orchestras.
The collection is curated by the Music Librarian, Tsukasa Cherkaoui. The Music Library is located on the 1st floor of the library, easily accessible to the Conservatory community.
Those who join the Friends of the Conservatory at any level have borrowing privileges at the Lynn Library. If you have questions about the loan policy or items in your Library account, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Please return borrowed library items to the Information Desk or Music Library. Library materials may be renewed in person, by calling us or sending an e-mail.
