eBooks and Print Books

Search for eBooks or print books

Follow these steps to find eBooks and print books at the Lynn University Library (see image below).

  1. Start at the main search box on the home page of the library: https://lynn-library.libguides.com/library/home
  2. Filter your search to find just the eBooks and print books that are available through the Lynn University Library.
    • in the Held by Library section, click the box for Lynn University Library
    • in the Format section, click the box for Books

Note: if you click the peer-reviewed check box, books will be removed from the search results. And you can browse the books on the shelf (look for BF).

Use the Call Number to find books

The image below shows an entry for one of the books in the library. To find the book in the library, look for three things:

  1. The title - so you know the book when you find it!
  2. the Location - this tells you where the item is in the library (the general collection is on the second floor; textbooks are behind the checkout desk).
  3. The Library of Congress (LOC) call number - this tells you exactly where on the second floor you can find the item. The shelves are arranged in alphabetical order, then by the sections of the call number in number or alphabetical order. GE | 195 | .S88 | 2003
    • Start by finding the shelves that are G, then GE
    • Once you find all the books that start with GE, look for the number 195 (GE 195)
    • Once you find all the books that are labeled GE 195, look for the letters again and find the .S
    • Finally, look for the 88, look for the book labeled GE 195 .S88
    • You might find more than one book labeled GE 195 .S88 so the year will help you identify the correct book
