Humanities Posters Tips

Sections/Headings

For some humanities posters, the standard IMRaD (Intro, Methods, Results, and Discussion/Conclusion) layout will work.

Other formats for Humanities:

  • Modified IMRaD: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions - modify this to fit your paper.
    • Example: Abstract, Introduction & Argument, Background & Approach, Conclusions & Discussion
    • See this article link for format ideas for papers, adapt to your poster
  • PICO: Problem, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome
  • Paper Sections: Abstract, Body, Conclusion, and references.
  • Thematic: Group sections of your poster according to sub-themes.
  • Narrative: Tell a story about your topic; particularly useful for a specific event (i.e. World War II).
  • Questions and Answers: Summarize your main research questions and how you answered them.
