Lynn University Library Assistants' Guide

Everything you need to know to be a successful library assistant!

CREATIVE SERVICES

Creative Services is the official print center for Lynn University students and employees.

Students and employees can order prints on myLynn and pick them up at Creative Services on the first floor of the library.

  • When requesting copies, original copies should be in good condition before copying.
  • Digital file formats accepted: PDF and JPEG
  • Please make sure all items are at "final" size and are proportional for enlargement.
  • Required resolution(s) for production:
    • Small format Color: 300 DPI
    • Small format B&W: 600 DPI
    • Large format: 72-150 DPI
  • Select and adjust colors prior to sending request for production.
  • Students must have ID in order to pick-up production requests.
  • In most cases, production requests are completed on the same day.
  • Large format requests or orders of higher volume will require a minimum of 12-24 business hours.
  • Rush requests: Please call LCS at ext. 9632 for the current production schedule.

SEFLIN One Card

Students from other institutions and libraries and the general public are welcome to visit the library. Visitors from SEFLIN institutions (regional colleges, universities, and public libraries in the Southeast Florida Library & Information Network) may borrow materials from the library by presenting a SEFLIN One Card, which they can get from their home institution.

 


Checking Out with a SEFLIN One Card

When you enter their One Card number and an account comes up, you proceed as usual to check out.

If no account is found, professional staff must set up the account. Please contact the librarian on duty to create an account.

If there is no librarian available, please fill out the SEFLIN One Card Check Out form below.

SEFLIN One Card Policies

SEFLIN cards check out as a non-Lynn Patron: 

Books- 10 Count, checks out for 30 days with 2 renewals 
DVD - 5 Count, checks out for 7 days with 1 renewal
Scores- 10 Count, checks out for 30 days with 5 renewals

Music CDs may not be checked out.

Please inform the patron that we do not print out receipts, but they will receive an email list of the items checked out and their due dates.

If their Lynn Library card has expired, you cannot renew it or extend the date. They will need to return to their issuing or home library to get a new SEFLIN One Card.


Issuing a SEFLIN One Card

Anyone with a Lynn ID is eligible to get a SEFLIN One Card, but only professional staff can issue it. If they want to use the library at FAU or the Palm Beach County Library or any of the libraries listed in the pamphlet, please ask the librarian on duty to sign them up.

If you already have a non-premium account and want to upgrade to Lynn’s version, then please follow these steps:

Grammarly Account Reset:

1) Log in to Grammarly with the email you used

2) Visit the Profile page and click on the "Account" at https://app.grammarly.com/profile/account

3) Click the "Delete account" link.

4) Go to https://www.grammarly.com/edu/signup. Enter your correct Lynn email and preferred password to sign up for a Grammarly account.

5) Check your email (Inbox and spam folder) for an activation email.

6) Log in to your account at https://www.grammarly.com/edu.

All Lynn students, staff, and faculty are eligible for a free, digital New York Times account. Please sign up using your Lynn email. Your account must be renewed each year.
