Author(s). (Year, Month Day). News article title in italics: Subtitle in italics. News Site. URL

Note: Use this format for articles published in online news sources such as BBC News, HuffPost, CNN, Salon etc., that DO NOT have an associated daily or weekly print newspaper.


Examples:

Shoichet, C. E. (2020, March 12). The 2020 census kicks off across the United States today. It's expected to be the largest in US history. CNN. https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/12/us/2020-census-what-you-need-to-know/index.html

  • In-text paraphrase: (Shoichet, 2020).
